There are 5 other OB-GYN’s and 1 mid-wife in town now. One of the OB/GYN’s in town will be retiring next year. Hospital delivers approximately 700 babies per year. County median age is 36 years old. Sign-on, relocation, student loan (if appropriate), marketing, practice management (depending on contract type) are all offered on a case-by-case basis. Other physicians in community will welcome new OB in town. Payor Mix is 25% Medicaid, 5% self-pay and 65%-70% commercial. Commercial contracts are predominately a percent of charges, as high as 95%. Practice is located within Hospital MOB on campus. Practice has established referral pattern to University of Utah - U of U MFM department is working towards a scheduled rotation here; otherwise most physicians will refer High-Risk patients to U of U for care. Patients are currently being seen from communities as far as 3.5 hours away. Right now we are looking for someone for next year BUT that could change depending on what happens with two of our OB’s in town. We have a very fluid situation going on and it is possible we could be looking for 1 immediately and 1 for next summer. No visa sponsorship.
