University School of Medicine announces outstanding opportunities for an open rank Emergency Medicine physician. The successful candidates will have completed an accredited residency program and be board certified/eligible.

The Department of Emergency Medicine has over 30 full-time faculty members across four diverse practice sites. Clinical practice sites include several Hospitals: 1. (~45,000 visits/year), 2. (~53,000 visits/year), 3. (~23,500 visits/year), and a free-standing urgent care (23,000 visits/year)

The ED at Hospital #1 is a Level 1 Trauma Center, Primary Stroke Center, and regional tertiary care center, which provides comprehensive emergency care to the sick and injured of West Virginia and neighboring states. It is the base for a fully accredited EM Residency with nine resident slots/year. Hospital #2 is located 25 miles south of the city. Community ED physicians enjoy a new state of the art hospital while practicing in a bedside teaching environment with the EM residents. Hospital #3 is located in the central WV college town near the city, clinical opportunities and medical student mentoring are available. University's Urgent Care is located in the city and offers both clinical and teaching experience.

City is located just over an hour south of Pittsburgh, PA and three and one-half hours from Washington, DC and Baltimore, MD. City offers culturally diverse, large-city amenities in a safe, family-like setting. There is an excellent school system and an abundance of recreational opportunities.
