New: Psychiatry/Medical Director Opportunity in Metro Southwest Ohio!!

The Medical Director position (description of duties below) is designed for a psychiatrist and the salary range is Minimum = $80.96/hr., Mid Point = $101.20/hr., and Maximum = $121.45/hr. Placement in this range is dependent on years of experience and Board certifications. Certification in Addiction Psychiatry would be a plus, as would fellowship training in Child and Adolescent psychiatry. We are a major training site for the Child Fellowship Training Program. The successful candidate could obtain a faculty appointment and teach in the University's Dept. of Psychiatry and supervise psychiatry residents if desired. Organization also provides a negotiated CME stipend and time away for CME activities. We generally offer fulltime employed physicians four weeks of vacation and 9 paid holidays, as well as 40 hours of paid sick leave per year. We have a very competitive benefit package, including having our health insurance through the Organization's Health Plan.

It is a community behavioral health organization that provides mental health and substance abuse services. We are owned by the Health System, and are very mission-focused, serving predominantly low income people. Eighty per cent (80%) of our third party revenue comes from Medicaid. We have about 185 employees, including some employed physicians. We also contract with physicians as independent contractors and through the University.

Last year, we served approximately 10,000 distinct individuals, roughly 34% of whom were children ages 0-17.

Medical Director Job Description

1. Adhere to Organization's Patient Experience philosophy, guidelines and tools.
2. Demonstrate strong ethics, honesty and adherence to Organization's Code of Conduct and Compliance program.
3. Document direct care provided in a thorough and timely manner in Organization's electronic health record.
4. Provide guidance and oversight of Organization physicians and midlevel providers to ensure that clinical care is of high quality and follows best practice guidelines.
5. Conduct physician and midlevel Peer Review audits and report results to the Organization's Quality Improvement Committee.
6. Serve as a member of the Organization's Quality Improvement Committee and ensure that medical staff follow quality guidelines.
7. Write and review Organization's policies related to pharmacological services, infection control, and other medically-related policies as requested.
8. As requested, provide input to the performance appraisals of physicians and midlevel providers.
9. Respond, as requested, to media requests for information on various clinical topics and Organization's services.
10. Assist the President and CEO with physician recruitment.
11. Assist with grant preparation and program/service development as requested.
12. Serve as the Collaborating Physician for midlevel providers within his/her scope of competency.
13. Assume on-call responsibilities as needed for prehospitalization screenings performed through Organization's CrisisCare program.
14. Provide direct psychiatric care to patients at primary and secondary sites as needed.
15. Provide psychiatric coverage at Organization's locations where there is a psychiatric shortage.
16. Serve on internal and external committees as requested.
17. Oversee the practice of assigned psychiatric residents and medical students in the provision of care to patients.
18. Oversee and ensure that the clinical documentation of assigned psychiatric residents and medical students is compliant with Organization's guidelines for quality and timeliness.
19. Provide leadership to the medical staff in the introduction and adoption of new/best practices in clinical care and in business functions to ensure the survival of Organization.
20. Provide in-service training to medical and other staff upon request.
21. Assist in the development and monitoring of productivity standards and performance for physicians and midlevel providers
22. Function as a member of the Senior Leadership Team to assist Organization in fulfilling its Vision, Mission and Values.
