Pediatric Hospitalist Opening in Indiana - Ft. Wayne!!

Children’s Hospital seeks to recruit a BC/BE Pediatric Hospitalist to join a dedicated inpatient pediatric hospitalist team. Hospital has a comprehensive staff of pediatric subspecialists, psychosocial staff, and all standard pediatric supportive services. New program development with potential for a leadership role. It is a well-resourced pediatric department with enthusiastic staff, who demonstrate a level of morale far above average. The patient volume is modest and the hospitalists enjoy the backup of the pediatric critical care team which is in-house and available to assess sick patients at night. The hospitalist is typically present during daytime hours for rounds and available for call from home at night, typically every fourth night. The volume is modest, e.g. 3-4 admissions per 24 hours. The position will start with 12-hour blocks until facility hires a full complement of physicians. Although the service is not typically resident-run, there are significant opportunities for both formal and informal teaching of medical students and residents. The perspectives and QI interests of incoming hospitalists are welcomed, and physicians are respected as partners with opportunities to share in leadership roles. The hospitalist is expected to enthusiastically embrace opportunities to meet such standard needs as consulting and supporting the pediatric ED when needed, performing standard procedures (e.g. LP), and attending departmental meetings. *No Visa support.
