Brand New: OB/GYN Opportunity - 20 miles from downtown Indianapolis!!
Summary
Hospital is expanding the hospital-owned OB/GYN practice.
This expansion is in response to an opportunity that exists in the hospital's service area to grow both the obstetrics and gynecology service lines, traditionally a very strong program at the hospital. In fact, for many years the hospital has been the market leader in providing OB services. This proposed expansion will further strengthen that position.
The physician selected will become an employee of the hospital with a three-year employment contract and will become the fourth member of the Group.
Hospital
The hospital is county-owned and has served the citizens of the County immediately near Indianapolis since 1947. With just over 125 staffed beds the hospital has a number of specialty programs. Among them are a comprehensive cancer service, breast center, cath and peripheral vascular lab, cardiovascular testing center, sleep center, wound care center, diabetes care program, acute rehabilitation center, orthopedic services, critical and progressive care units and Fresenius maintains a renal dialysis center on the Hospital campus.
The hospital maintains a 12-bed Maternity Center built entirely on the LDRP concept. The Unit also has a special procedures room where all C-sections are performed. Patients and the medical staff have access to 24-7 anesthesia coverage and the unit staffs a level 1 nursery. The hospital maintains a close relationship with Indy Children's Hospital which is utilized for newborn critical care transfers. The transfer rate over the past five years as ranged from a low of 1% to a high of 3.5% of all births. Over the last five years the Unit has averaged 680 births per year.
Our surgeons perform about 550 GYN procedures per year. The hospital has initiated a $14.1 million expansion and modernization of the surgery unit, due to be completed in the spring of 2012. Included in the project is new office space for the Group which offers quick access to both surgery and the Maternity Care Center.
Location
Over the last decade it has consistently been the 3rd or 4th fastest growing county in the state of Indiana. Located just outside of downtown Indianapolis, making trips into Indianapolis for dining, sporting or cultural events an easy drive of less than 30 minutes. Access to Indianapolis International Airport is a 30 to 45 minute commute, depending on your location in the County.
The county boasts a wide variety of housing options and with its location provides easy access to the University of Indianapolis and Indiana, Purdue, Bulter, Ball State and Indiana State universities. All are located less than 90 miles from the County. A highly regarded College, a four-year liberal arts college, is a few minutes away from the hospital.
The County is blessed with excellent public school systems and a wide variety of recreational opportunities.
Indiana's second largest enclosed mall, located on the northern border of the County. It is a shopping and dining destination point for Central Indiana. The Outlet Mall anchors the county's southern border.
The Group
Currently the group has three physicians. All are board certified and members of ACOG.
Any physician joining the group will enjoy the assurance of their combined years of experience, training and insight into the practice of OB/GYN.
Call rotation is 1:4.
Compensation and Benefits
The total compensation package being offered is valued at $325,000 to $330,000 annually. This includes a base compensation of $235,000 guaranteed in years 1 and 2 of the contract, hospital payment of malpractice insurance, health, life and disability insurance, CME and an incentive bonus system is available. There are 20 days of vacation time made available as well as 6 paid holidays and 5 days for CME. Both a 403(b) and 457 retirement plan are available with a hospital match of 1.5% when the physician contributes at 3% or more.
