Excellent opportunity to practice inpatient and outpatient Family Medicine (option for outpatient only) in an established practice in a welcoming community in the Northwest corner of North Carolina.
Currently, we have four primary care practices and four specialty practices that are owned and operated by the hospital. We have developed a physician needs analysis that predicts a growing need for physicians in our area over the next several years Ð especially for primary care due to shifts in utilization and planned retirement for some of our current physicians. The hospital does have a hospitalist service so our primary care physicians have the option to admit their own patients or to use the service.
Hospital is a non-profit, independent hospital that is run by a local board of trustees. We have 81 acute care beds that are located in all new patient care units that opened in January of 2010. We have a 9 bed ICU and a 23 bed Emergency Department that are also brand new. Hospital operates a 120 bed long term care facility that is located on our campus. The hospitalÕs medical staff, nursing staff, support staff, and administration take pride in our facility, in our quality measures, and in our patient satisfaction scores.
