Description

General Surgeon Desired for Multi-Disciplinary Surgicalist Team in Southeast Ohio!!

Our health system is looking for a BC/BE physician to join our hospital employed acute-care surgical practice (100% inpatient) with an established and growing Surgicalist program. Recruitment is due to rapidly growing volume and increasing complexity. No elective work, no elective office hours.

Join a reputable, multi-specialty group with six (6) full-time surgeons participating in the surgicalist model with specialty interest in surgical oncology, bariatrics, advanced laparoscopic/robotic surgery, endocrine and thoracic surgery.

The ideal candidate will be board certified in general surgery, and strong consideration will be given to those with fellowship training in trauma/critical care or minimally invasive/laparoscopic surgery. In addition to being an excellent clinician, it is paramount that the physician be a team-player, with strong inter-personal skills and ability to coordinate complex care of surgical patients. Preference may also be given (but not limited) to those with leadership and/or administrative experience and/or interest in program-building.

The proposed schedule is:

144 days annually(18 one-week call shifts per year, 18 clinic days for follow-ups/post-ops).
A total of no more than 22 weeks work time per year allowing ample time to pursue your outside interests

Average case load per week of: 40-60 patient consults, 20-30 surgical cases
Case mix of bread and butter general surgery, as well as a high volume of endoscopy (upper and lowers) and minimal trauma (Level 3).
Home-call, with the expectation of prompt evaluation of consults to expedite care and throughput

In addition, there are opportunities for the candidate to pursue other professional interests such as: elective practice, administrative/leadership projects, and voluntary academic responsibilities (residents, medical students and physician assistant rotations).

Compensation highlights include:

$Base salary annually for 18 weeks of call coverage and 18 clinics for follow-ups/post-ops
$Compensation for each additional week of call coverage (over the base of 18 weeks of call)
WRVU model productivity incentives with no cap on earnings.
Signing bonus, relocation and education loan repayment

Comprehensive benefit package that includes fully paid occurrence-based malpractice (no tail coverage needed), CME allotment, 403B/457B physician pension plans, and family health insurance coverage (at no premium cost to the physician)
