Healthcare System in southeast Texas seeks a full-time Program Director to develop and manage a brand new Family Medicine Residency Program.
The program is being established in affiliation with Texas A&M University, with consulting assistance from UTMB at Galveston. This program has the potential to be Texas' next, best opportunity to train family physicians to serve our growing population. When fully developed, the program will train 18 Family Medicine residents (6 per class). In addition to the Program Director, we anticipate two other full-time teaching physicians.
Residents will love the fact this will be an UNOPPOSED training program that will give them direct access to practicing Family Physicians, Family Physicians with Obstetrics, Pediatricians, and Emergency Medicine physicians.
We plan to seek ACGME accreditation next January. Join us now to establish and build this exciting new program. We're looking for Board Certified Family Medicine candidates with about 5 years' teaching experience, a clean background, and the personality, energy and vision to build for the future!
The system, located in historic TX, is licensed for over 300 beds between two campuses, with 20 geriatric psychiatry beds:
-- We have 170 Active Staff physicians representing virtually all specialties
-- We work with an FQHC that serves numerous outlying communities
-- We are a Level III Trauma Center
-- We have an excellent Hospitalist program
-- About 65% of OB patients have Medicaid coverage; only about 25% of non-OB patients are Medicaid
