    Immediate Openings for OB-GYN Physicians - Virginia’s Shenandoah Valley!!
    Position Description: OB-GYN
    Number of Openings: 2 needed (one urgently, and 2nd within 1 year)
    Desired Start Date: ASAP
    Reason for Opening: Recent partial retirement of founding partner

    Practice Structure:
    • Single Specialty – physician owned
    • Currently 4 full-time physicians
    • Founding physician just went to 2-days/week in office doing office gyn (no call/no
    hospital)
    • CNM’s – 5 full-time CNM’s performing deliveries, office gyn
    o CNM’s have their own patients – Physicians provide backup and perform c-sections.
    o CNM’s provide postop care for their patients
    Scope of Practice: Inpatient/Outpatient Mix. Approximately 50% OB/50% GYN

    Job Schedule:
    • Full-scope OB-GYN practice
    • Current physicians work 3-days/week in office, 1-day/week off (if desired),
    1-weekday/week and 1-weekend (Fri/Sat/Sun)/every 4th week call coverage at hospital
    • Call coverage will depend on number of physicians in practice (currently 4 taking call)
    • Call usually in-house, but may take call from home if quiet and Physician lives within 30
    minutes
    Call Ratio: Currently 1:4
    Call Type: In-hospital coverage for group OB/GYN patients – backup call for CNM’s
    Employment Status: Employed by Group

    Partnership Option:
    • If mutually agreeable, partnership is offered after 2 years as employee physician.
    • Partner would have equal voting share on Board
    • Buy-in to include percentage of hard assets and group AR
    • Buy-in terms flexible and usually include a salary reduction rather than lump sum

    Teaching Opportunities:
    • No residents or medical students
    • Some rotation of PA’s and NP’s through office – participation in teaching is optional
    • No academic appointment

    Visa Sponsorship: Can be considered

    Group Information:
    • Single specialty-full scope OB-GYN group
    • 5 physicians (1 part-time office gyn only. 4 full-time)
    • 5 CNM’s
    • 1 Family Practice NP
    • In-house high-resolution USD (4 RDM’s – 3 GE Voluson machines working daily)
    • 2-3 medical assistants per Physician
    • 4 RN’s performing NST’s, IV infusions, management of HCG’s, triage phone calls, wound
    care, NOB visits, and some routine OB visits
    • Full in-house billing/collection services
    • In-house surgery with board-certified anesthesiologist providing conscious sedation.

    Procedures include: Novasure, Myosures, IUD retrievals, D&C’s, D&E’s (<8 wks),
    Hysteroscopies, Bartholin’s gland marsupialization
    • Botox and in-office laser liposuction available
    • Full scope IUD insertion/removal, Nexplanon insertion/removal
    • Office Endosee, LEEP’s and SIS procedures available
    • Basic infertility work-up and treatment including IUI and Ory protocol
    • OB care – both low and high-risk care. Group performs about 100 deliveries/month
    • MFM’s available via telephone for consultations and referrals
    • On-Site 3D mammograms performed in office
    • EMR: Allscripts Pro EHR

    Hospital:
    • Deliveries and GYN care at Medical Center
    • Part of the HealthCare System (not-for-profit) – 12 hospitals in Virginia and NE
    North Carolina
    • 238 acute care beds
    • Family Birth Place:
    o 1800 deliveries per year
    o Large labor rooms
    o Low intervention birthing suites
    o Whirlpool tubs
    o Nitrous oxide, epidurals
    o Skin-to-skin and delayed cord clamping

    • Deliveries after 34-wks in hospital – before that transfer to one of several hospitals.

    Patient Mix:
    • 16 % Medicaid. 7 % Medicare. 65 % Private insurance. 12 % Self-pay
    • Large Hispanic and multi-ethnic community (it is a Federal Refugee
    Relocation City).
    • In-house Spanish interpreter.
    • Language line available.

    Compensation: Fully-negotiable
    • Model: Salary plus Production Bonus
    • Salary: Competitive and negotiable
    • Sign On Bonus: Yes
    • 1st Year Productivity Bonus: Yes
    • Long Term Earnings: Based on productivity.
    • Current Physician Average Yearly Earnings (full-time): $407,000.
    • Ancillary Income: Portion of CNM production and Mammography income (as partner)
