Multiple Outpatient Family Medicine Opportunities in the Harrisburg, PA area!!
"Our entire practice uses Medent for our EHR. I have used multiple EHR’s and this is by far the easiest to use and has a wide range of capabilities when it comes to reporting and compliance.
- For the practices that I mentioned, most of them have 8-5, 8-7 or 8-8 office hours.
- For several opportunities the call rotation functions that the individual is on call M,W,F during the first week, works a Saturday acute care clinic from 8-5 and Sunday 1-5 and then is on call the Tuesday and Thursday the following week. This call group has about 25 physicians who are part of it so an individual on call only has to do this once every 20 weeks or so, so about twice a year. They also have a RN answering service that addresses the majority of calls so only very few actually get through to the Physician. For the other opportunity, they do call at the office location. They also have an answering service that addresses the majority of calls coming in so it is very minimal- 2-4 calls a night. Since there are only three individuals in the rotation an individual would be on call every fourth week. They do not have Saturday or Sunday hours at this point.
- For the patients seen per day, we have providers who see 15 patients per day and a few that see as many as 60 patients a day. It really depends on the individuals work ethic. In general, to cover their costs we would expect them to see as close to 20 per day on average as possible.
- As for salary/partnership, this depends on whether the physician wants to just show up every day, do their thing and go home or if they want to be a partner in the practice. For employed physicians, their salary is guaranteed at a set level for the first year. The amount is guaranteed for the first year and then subsequent years are based on their productivity. The more patients they see, the more opportunity they have to make a higher salary through our physician incentive plan. If however, they aren’t very productive their salary decreases. Initially, for the first 2-3 years, all physicians brought into the practice start out as employed physicians. If after their first year, the physician turns out to be highly productive, a team player and shows an interest in the practice as a whole, they will then have the opportunity to be looked at by our Board of Directors for partnership in the practice. In general, physician partners make more money as they are more productive and they are also eligible to receive a portion of the practices lab profits based on the number of shares that the Board of Directors award them for partnership. Initially everyone brought on as a physician partner starts out with 2 shares of the practice which awards them a certain percentage of the lab profits. Over time they have the opportunity to obtain additional shares up to and including 14 total shares. The more shares you own, the greater your share of the lab profit becomes. Full share partners (14 total shares) generally double their annual salary at a minimum. As in most group practices, those who work hard are rewarded.
- We have full and comprehensive benefits. Health and dental insurance; $2,000 for CME reimbursement, $500,000 life insurance policy; disability policies, long-term care policy, three paid weeks of vacation and one week of CME time; 401K with matching benefits up to 4% of contribution after the first year; paid federal and state licensing; paid malpractice insurance.
- For the PTO, our standard contract reads four total weeks with one week to be used for CME time. However, we really do not care how much time off they take with the understanding that again, the harder they work, the more money they will make. If they want to take 20 weeks off, their salary will reflect someone who takes 20 weeks off."
