Physician Assistant Opportunity!
Professional - Clinical
Cardiothoracic Surgery
Department: CARDIOTHORACIC PA
Schedule: Full Time
Shift: Day Shift
Hours: 7 am - 4 pm

Job Details:
Completion of an ARC-PA accredited master's level PA program

As an Assistant to the Cardiothoracic Surgeons to provide holistic, age and culturally appropriate comprehensive medical care. Functions as a practitioner, consultant, role model, researcher and educator, ensuring quality patient care and outcomes. Coordinates optimal resources within the multi-disciplinary team of physicians, nurses, managers, patients and families. Participates in continuous quality improvement activities and educational experiences in support of departmental philosophy and objectives, as well as Heath System initiatives.

Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant Program. Minimum of two years clinical practice.

Licensed as a Physician Assistant in the State of Illinois. CPR certified, ACLS preferred.

Nurse Practitioner Opportunity!
Department: HEART NP
Schedule: Full Time

Hours: 7-5

Job Details:

Collaborate with supervising physician to provide outpatient care in a clinic setting including physical and diagnostic exams and testing, differential diagnosis and treatment plans, postoperative exams, and medication management. Provide hospital inpatient care including cardiac care work ups, hospital rounds, admission history & physicals, patient orders, progress notes, treatment planning, and discharge planning and summaries. Order radiographic exams including, but not limited to, MRI, PET, CT, Nuclear Medicine Scans, Cardiac Stress Tests, and Angiograms. Perform diagnostic procedures including, but not limited to, the insertion of Arterial Lines. Participate in continuous quality improvement activities and educational experiences in support of departmental philosophy and objectives, as well as Health System initiatives.

Completion of an approved Nurse Practitioner program. At least three years nursing experience in a clinic setting.

Current RN and APN license in State of Illinois. CPR certified, ACLS preferred.

Successful completion of annual clinical, age and job specific competencies and skill verification tools. Good interpersonal skills and ability to relate well with patients, families, physicians and staff within the organizational and community. Excellent verbal, written, organizational and critical decision-making skills required.
