Pediatrics Opportunity - Eastern PA (Metro Location near Philly & NYC)!!

· This is a group pediatric practice not a multispecialty clinic.

· It is a hospital employed position

· Currently 3 outpatient physicians @ 2.2 FTE , one PA-C (1.0 FTE) and 4 NPs @ 2.3 FTE plus (3 physicians @ 2.2 FTE and one 1.0 FTE PA-C on inpatient)

· Adding a physician to replace one who left but also anticipating continued growth.

· There are 3 offices.

The typical work week schedule:

Depends on the FTE (full time equivalent).

1.0 FTE = 40 hrs/week which could be (5) eight hour days, or (4) ten hour days, or (2) twelve hour days and (2) eight hour days. A full time (1.0 FTE) position would include two evenings per week.

Generally one sees about three patients per hour. Varies seasonally.

Call schedule:

Call frequency is proportionate to one’s FTE and somewhat dependent upon the number of physician in the group. A full time (1.0 FTE) covers about one weeknight (Mondays through Thursdays) in 8 and involves answering calls from home and managing admissions in conjunction with the Family Practice residents that are in-house. Weekend call (Friday night through Monday morning) involves making rounds in the newborn nursery and inpatient floor and taking night call from home. Weekend call is based on “point” system: 20 points/year for a 1. 0 FTE. In general, a full weekend (Friday-Monday) accumulates 3 points: it can be split into Sat/Sun nursery and Saturday night call = 1 point and Sat/Sun inpatient and Fri/Sun night call = 2 points.

An answering service manages most of the patient calls. Physician calls are generally from the hospital (nursery, floor or ED).
