Seeking an ENT to join Medical Staff in Southwest Virginia!!
Hospital is seeking an additional Otolaryngologist to join their medical staff. There is currently one in the market but previously there were three. One has retired and the other relocated. The new physician would have a busy practice and both employment or private practice options are available. This is an excellent opportunity to have a busy practice in a community that the whole family will enjoy.

HOSPITAL: Hospital is a 237-bed, full service, acute-care community hospital. Recent capital improvements include a new 64-Slice CT Scanner, Picture Archive Communication System (PACS), Ambulatory Surgery Center, additonal Phillips Cath Lab, and renovation of the 3rd, 4th and 5th floors. In addition, we will be installing an Open MRI and opening an Inpatient Rehabilitation Center. We recently completed an extensive renovation project designed to separate inpatient and outpatient services, improve the flow of people in the hospital, and provide more convenient and efficient services to our patients. The state-of-the-art Oncology Center, affiliated with Wake Forest Medical Center, and the Breast Care Center are recent additions as well as a Hyperbaric/Wound Care Center and 4-Bed Sleep Lab. Physical Rehabilitation, the Cancer Center, Breast Care Center, and ER each have their own dedicated entrances. The Elective Procedure Services, Laboratory, Radiology, and Cardiopulmonary/Neurophysiology have also been recently renovated. In 2007, Hospital began an Interventional Cardiology Program.

MEDICAL STAFF: Currently, 100 physicians have active privileges at the hospital

Active Staff: Anesthesiology, Interventional Cardiology, Family Practice, Internal Medicine, General Surgery, Urology , OB/GYN, Orthopedic Surgery, ENT/Allergy, Pediatrics, Nephrology, Neurology, Neuro-Surgery, Oncology/Hematology, Psychiatry, Pathology, and Radiology.

LOCATION: A family oriented community; it is located in beautiful Southern Virginia just 50 miles north of metro amenities in Greensboro, North Carolina and 50 miles south of scenic Roanoke, Virginia. The City has a population of 32,000 and County has a population of 53,000, with an average household income (based on 2005 data) of $46,536 with an increase of 24% by 2008. The total service area for health care services at the hospital is 92,000 in population. The lakes and mountains also attract many vacationers and retirees to the area.

RECREATION: Located in the foothills of the Majestic Blue Ridge Mountains, the area is a haven for fishermen and water sports enthusiasts. The 3,000-acre Lake boasts an undeveloped shoreline. Smith Mountain Lake has 500 miles of shoreline and offers water activities, lodging, fishing and big boating sports. The Smith River offers some of the best native brown trout fishing in the state. And Fairy Stone State Park offers 4,750 acres of hiking, picnicking, swimming, boating, fishing, tent sites, RV hookups, cabins and camping lodges. The area has four private golf clubs, and two public courses. Other sporting opportunities include the Speedway, which hosts two Nextel races each year, and the Mustangs.
