Hospitalists Needed to Practice near Sunny Beaches of Alabama!!

Hospitalist program seeks additional providers. Nocturnist position available too.

Medical Center is a 420-bed regional referral and Level II trauma center. It manages its own hospitalist program and currently employs 14 full time board certified internal medicine hospitalists.
6 physicians cover the day shift
additional physician works a transition period from 7 p.m. to midnight.
One physician serves as the admitting physician during the 7 a.m.–7 p.m. shift.
Average daily census is 15 per provider with a cap at 20.

•Starting salary is $105/hr day shift, $115/hr night shift with guaranteed 16 shifts per month

Practice Highlights:

Hospitalists provide ED unassigned coverage, care for transfers and in-hospital consults.
They also provide limited coverage for some primary care physicians.
•Physicians utilize in house electronic medical records and PACS, physician portal, participate in a journal club, and have personal access to Up to Date program. Medical Center seeks additional hospitalists to join robust program that is expanding. Since 2004, our hospitalists (employed by Medical Center) have managed inpatients (designated and unassigned emergency patients) that may require admission or medical consultation.

Some of program highlights include:
A face to face post shift conference with oncoming hospitalists is held for the daytime providers.
•There is 24 hour ED, anesthesia and radiology coverage.
•Excellent subspecialty support.
•Pulmonolgists are in the hospital 12 hours daily and assist with ventilator management; however, ICU management is part of the hospitalist duties
•12 hour shifts 7 am-7p, 7p to 7 am (the schedule is provider friendly and no 7 days shifts are scheduled unless it reflects a physician's preferences.)
