Description

OB/GYN position on Southern Lake Michigan!!
We are seeking a third OBG as one of ours will be retiring next year. There are two remaining OB/GYNs and we have two CNM's in the practice who take first call for deliveries. We tend to deliver about 450 babies a year and do not plan to do high-risk deliveries. This is a hospital-employed position so a full range of benefits comes with a competitive salary and traditional perq's. We work closely with the NICU at the Hospital nearby so if we have a compromised neonate, the Baby Bus is rolling from a half-hour away for transfer.

City is a harbor town on southern Lake Michigan about a half-hour west of Kalamazoo, MI. It is two hours to downtown Chicago around the lake, and Grand Rapids is an hour north of us.

This office is an approved site by the National Health Service Corps, so there is the opportunity to apply for loan repayment assistance.

Community, Facility and Organization
Hospital has been serving the health care and medical needs of area residents since 1907. Initially organized as a City Hospital, the facility was reorganized as an Authority Hospital in the 1960's, designated to serve the Cities and the surrounding Townships. Each of these political subdivisions appoints a representative to our Board of Trustees, and these nine Trustees then select up to seven members at large, which comprises the governing Board for the Hospital. The hospital boasts a 97% patient satisfaction rate and top ten percent nationally for employee satisfaction!

Sun & sand – go for a Swim! Located on the eastern shore of Lake Michigan at the mouth of the Black River, the City has plenty of sparkling water and sandy beaches to go around. The town offers a wide variety of activities year around, but summer time is when it really shines (literally). Beach fun, fishing, golfing, or shopping, the City has it all, including a deep water harbor.

A harbor that has a rich maritime history. But we aren't a "single-faceted town," City has agricultural roots too. So, whether you want to see tall ships or pick your own blueberries, our town is a must see on any vacation "to do list." Vistors quickly see why we have been called "a gem among small American towns." Getting here is easy, the area is convenient to Chicago and Detroit off major freeways.
