Orthopedic Surgeons are needed to cover the patient population of Southwest Virginia. Currently the Clinic employs 2 Orthopedic Surgeons, one is planning his retirement. This is a busy well established practice with a built in referral base.
In one of our secondary market areas, there is a small 25 bed facility. The facility does not have the equipment for orthopedic procedures. The hospital does not have an orthopedic surgeon on staff nor do they have an orthopedic surgeon occupying the multi-specialty clinic. Most of the orthopedic cases are going to North Carolina as the wait time here is excessive. The hospital has requested many times to keep ongoing communications on adding an Orthopedic Surgeon in this market. This is another volume opportunity for the new recruit.
